Jeremiah Brown

from Champion Gallivanter

for Gboyega

called it poetry
then dished it out
to everybody
with the big spoon
did the same with my heart
except i ain’t
use no seasoning
just dished out me
and knew it was
decent
wallahi cor blimey
i left you with bare

on most days
bare is not enough
but he tried
he left everyone
with suttin’ so
let man go forth
with his ascending
pockets full of sand
and all manner of
otherworldly
dash it this way that
champion gallivanter
architect of joy
