Founded by poets Mariah Whelan and Joe Carrick-Varty in 2019, bath magg is an online poetry magazine and a home for the best new writing. Our aim is to offer a platform for both established and emerging poets to share a space.
We publish three times a year, and are regularly open for unsolicited submissions. Please check our submissions page for details.
Editors
MARIAH WHELAN is a poet, researcher and teacher. Her first collection, the love i do to you, won the AM Heath Prize. Her pamphlet Michael is out now with Broken Sleep Books and is in development as a site-specific audio production. She has a PhD from the University of Manchester and teaches poetry at Homerton College, The University of Cambridge.
JOE CARRICK-VARTY is a British-Irish poet, writer and founding editor of bath magg. His debut collection of poetry is More Sky (Carcanet, 2023). He won an Eric Gregory Award in 2022. His work has appeared in New Statesman, Granta and POETRY.
GBOYEGA ODUBANJO was born and raised in east London. He is the author of two poetry pamphlets, While I Yet Live (Bad Betty Press, 2019) and Aunty Uncle Poems (Smith | Doorstop, 2021).
VICTORIA KENNEFICK’s debut poetry collection, Eat or We Both Starve (Carcanet, 2021), won the Seamus Heaney First Collection Poetry Prize and was shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, the Costa Poetry Book Award, Derek Walcott Prize for Poetry and the Butler Literary Prize. Victoria is UCD/Arts Council of Ireland Writer-in-Residence 2023.
