I’m running
on soft gold flames, a saint
may you be subtle and magical
going so upright, a cone of blue
do the things you said you would
it’s funny how we speed to meet, yes
resolve intention into action then it disappears,
the thing we should have done
changed into something else and nothing to do but
lie under the big, full-leafed trees
next to this big building, the cathedral
full of pieces of glass like leaves
starting, one-by-one, to fall
the falling
